Welcome to Open House!

First, thank you for coming!

A little about the Science program here. We use FOSS for our curriculum, which includes textbooks as well as well planned science activities and kits with the materials we need. The central theory of FOSS kits is that hands on is the best way to learn science. Many experiments are revisited in other experiments, and the text references the experiments we do, making it more relevant for the students.

In addition to FOSS, we are in our second year of the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) grant. This grant paid for equipment (a lab of 10 laptops, an LCD projector, and a document camera), support positions, and professional development. My classes have been using the laptops to make vocab Power Points, podcasts, and even science review videos! I made a presentation to the school board on January 14th this year if you are interested in learning more.
